Sotheby’s Offers a Spread of Jewels at Its Fine Jewels and Online Sales. Sotheby’s is offering a spread of jewels for different occasions in its Fine Jewels and online sales this summer. The lots include pieces representing timelines like the 1920s’ antique jewels in chic to contemporary appeal. Others include decorative creations, emblematic pieces by leading jewellery houses like Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Bulgari and JAR. The Sotheby’s galleries will host viewing for public – in London between 1-5 June and in Geneva, from 11 – 13 June.

The Fine Jewels sale slated on June 6th in London, will be led by a magnificent diamond necklace by Cartier, supporting a 20.30-carat briolette diamond (est. $315,000 – 401,000) and a sapphire and diamond bracelet also made by Cartier in the 1930s (est. $101,000 – 129,000). Overall this sa;e of 379-lots will strongly feature pieces from legendary jewellery houses -Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and Bulgari. Tiaras, stylish retro jewels of the 1940s and some sapphire and emerald jewels too will be part of the auction.

Van Cleef & Arpels “Rose de Noël” jewels have been reinvented since their launch in the 1970s. A mother-of-pearl and diamond demiparure made of a pair of earrings and a brooch (est. $37,200 – 50,500) will be noteworthy too in the sale. The sale captures the ongoing love for tiaras today with four tiaras – a diamond foliate design from the early 20th century, a late 19th -century piece with palmettes, a natural pearl and diamond diadem, late 19th century and a floral and foliate scroll motifs tiara from around 1905.

Jewels with royal provenance include three exquisite pieces formerly in the collection of HRH King Farouk of Egypt – a diamond brooch, designed as a bird perched on a coral branch, by Van Cleef & Arpels; a diamond parure.

The Fine Jewels sale in Geneva will take place on 14th June with bold designs for daytime, and diamond essentials for the evening. A 2.41-carat ruby and diamond ring will be a highlight in the sale. It is set with a stone of Burmese origin and brilliant-cut diamonds.

Brooches designed as dragonflies and crafted with yellow sapphires and signed Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier’s ‘big cats’ ‘Panthère’ earrings set with pear-shaped emerald eyes, the cats’ teeth supporting oval onyx hoops; gold earrings set with cultured pearls from the French Jewellery house will be part of the sale.

The Jewels Online sale will be held between 5th– 15th June. Some of the highlights include – a chic pair of earrings, a gem set bangle, a pair of ear clips, designed as a blackened aluminium curve by JAR; a diamond brooch illustrating bold linearity and dynamic geometry of the art deco style; pieces for the dapper gentleman will also be part of the sale.
